New Xbox Controller Shells!

I'll admit.. at first I wasn't a fan of using an Xbox controller.  They are kinda big for my small hands and the thumbsticks felt awkward after using a Playstation controller for so long.  After getting used to both systems, I actually prefer the Xbox controller now.  The triggers are much better for shooters (R1 by default for PS3 is annoying now).  They have a nice weight to them also and now when I pick up a PS3 controller, it feels fragile.

The only thing lacking with the Xbox controller... colors/designs available.  There are many colors of PS3 controllers (mine is red) but the Xbox tends to just have black and white.  Special game themed controllers do exist so I ended up buying a Fable 3 one.  While it looks awesome, the super glossy finish makes my hands sweaty if I'm playing a stressful/intense game.

My boyfriend suggested that I look online for a new controller shell.  No reason to buy a new controller if it still works just fine.  I thought about just getting a silcone sleeve but then I couldn't use my chatpad.  :(  So I went on Amazon and typed in "Xbox controller shell" and WOW... lots of colors to choose from!  The purple one caught my eye so I immediately added it to my cart.  The bf then wanted one of his own and he spotted the clear shell. We also had to order a special screwdriver (Torx T-8) in order to take them apart. The average costs were around $15 each and $2 for the screwdriver, not bad!

Just in time for Mass Effect 3 tomorrow!  Woot! We had to run out and get a tiny phillips screwdriver in order to take the D-pad out.  Assembly was around 10-15 minutes total for my purple controller. 

Here's my boyfriend's new controller shell.  His came with all of the buttons and trim pieces so it ended up taking longer (about 30 minutes).
