February 2012 Gaming Adventures

February was a pretty fun month!  Lots of gamerscore (yet not as much as I could have earned) and good times.  Of course part of the good times was that I actually got to have a real birthday!  Now I get to wait until 2016 for it to happen again.  :(
I took it easy on achievements (*shakes fist at Dungeon Defenders*) but trying to make up for it in March (... so stay tuned for next month's post!)

Seeing this in my mailbox gives me many happy feeling.

So here's the rundown for February 2012:

Xmen Origins: Wolverine (720 GS earned) - To start off the month, I continued playing this game from January.  The combat is super fun (my favorite of any action genre) and I enjoyed finishing it.  One more playthrough on hard is needed for the full 100%, but I doubt I'll take the time just for 50 more points.

Dungeon Defenders (200 GS earned) - Wow, talk about a fun yet really time consuming game!  I easily spent over 150 hours playing this arcade game with my bf and friends.  As an achievement huntress this is bad but it was totally worth it.

Bug Village (200 GS earned) - Free phone game with achievements?  *hits download button*  Yes I'll admit that I fudged the time to earn all the points.  I'm against glitching games but I'm more against games with microtransactions that try and nickle and dime you.

Nat Geo Challenge! (1000 GS earned) - Decided to take it easy and dig into the games my bf got me for Xmas.  I know more about geography than I thought!  There are quizzes, jigsaw puzzles, "capture the map", and other various games to play.

Dead Island (10 GS earned) - Just wanted to finish up the "play 28 days later" achievement.  You can just adjust the time to get it sooner but I wanted to earn these points legit.

Xmen: Destiny (1000 GS earned) - I don't get all of the hate for this game... I guess I can understand if you're not into hack and slash games.  I bought this game day one but kept putting it off until I saw my bf play it.  This was an enjoyable action game with RPG elements.

Eternal Sonata (660 GS earned) - I've never been one to play the same game twice in a row... I just can't do it, a break is needed so it feels fresh again and less like a grind.  This game requires an "encore" (new game plus) to earn the full 1000.  Tough but very satisfying!

Uno (WP7) (200 GS earned) - What happens when you're bored while waiting for the pizza in the oven to cook?  You play a phone game of course!  An hour and 200 gamerscore later, complete!  :)

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning (1000 GS earned) - Yet another "time consuming yet totally worth it" game I played in February.  LOVED THIS GAME!  My favorite game so far this year.  I love sandbox WRPGs and this game scratched my itch and then some.

Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise (990 GS earned) - The first game was super fun and I enjoyed it enough to play it on PC as well.  This game was ridiculously easy with the vision cam.  The only missing achievement was the 4 player co-op... getting that finally finished next month.

Left 4 Dead (890 GS earned) - When my boyfriend asked me what I'd like to do on my birthday, I immediately replied with "Play Left 4 Dead together, of course!".  I didn't have very many points in the game (played for fun, not achievements) prior... so achievement hunting was fun and very successful!  Planning on getting 100% in March... stay tuned!

Captain America: Super Soldier (560 GS earned) - After reading a bit about this game (and seeing it on sale for $10 on GameFly), I picked this game up.  I was happy to see that all of the achievements can be earned on easy difficulty, in one playthrough, and nothing is missable.  This is the last game in February and bleeds over into March... so I'll update again in next month's update.  :)

Good Luck Have Fun!

Total GS earned in February = 7,430

  3. There are good games on both systems... just depends on what you want to play. :)

I have a GameFly account and use it all the time. They have a great selection of games to rent and used games are decent in price (crazy cheap during their sales).
