Here is our current gaming setup:
Two 47" TVs playing co-op Dungeon Defenders.
I've decided to keep this blog more active, at the end of every month I'll post about the games I played.
So here's the rundown for January 2012:
Gears of War 3 (200 GS earned) - Whenever another DLC is released, it's time to play more Gears! I picked up the Season Pass during the 12 Days of Christmas event... yay for waiting for a deal! So of course the bf and I have to play the new DLC the day it comes out. :)
Halo: Reach (750 GS earned) - After moving into the new house, first game I put in the Xbox (after it took me a couple of days to get everything hooked up/moved in) was Halo: Reach. The bf and I decided to boost the Reach map pack DLC that came in our copies of Halo Anniversary. It was good fun and I felt a bit like a noob since I'm new to the "boosting" scene.
Bastion (150 GS earned) - Picked this game up during the 12 Days of Christmas sale. I kept hearing so many wonderful things about this game. After about 20 minutes or so the novelty wore off and I found myself pretty bored. Don't get me wrong, I love dungeon crawler action RPGs but this game didn't hook me like it probably should have.
Dragon Age II (120 GS earned) - I'm not a fan of overpriced DLC, especially when there is only about 2 hours of gameplay involved. The first DLC "Legacy" went on sale so I decided to pick it up and play it. I have to say that I actually enjoyed it! It's not worth full price but I enjoyed the DLC and the achievements were fun.
Halo 3 (200 GS earned) - More boosting? A little but most of this was just me finding the skulls in the forge maps. I'd like to play this game more and get some more achievements... legendary co-op anyone? :)
Butterfly (WP7) (200 GS earned) - What happens when you show up a couple of hours early to work with nothing to do? Play a phone game of course! I heard this game was a quick (1-2 hour) game so I bought it. Sure enough, I had the full 200 before starting work. Fun and easy game.
Doodle God (WP7) (200 GS earned) - Yep another phone game. After reading what this game was about I had to pick it up. It was pretty relaxing and took much longer than I expected. It was super easy since it's just a matching game.
uDraw: Instant Artist (1000 GS earned)- Hooray back to retail games! I saw that Amazon had uDraw tablets for only $30 down from original price of $80. I love art and I was curious about it so I bought one for my Xbox. Wow I'm very impressed with the tablet and how responsive it is. The game was pretty fun too (minus the alien mini game, that was a pain). I'm disappointed that THQ is discontinuing the product but I can see why, it's not for everyone.
Marvel Super Hero Squad: Comic Combat (1000 GS earned) - After enjoying my time with uDraw: Instant Artist, it piqued my curiosity about other games available for the tablet. So I drove down to Best Buy and picked up this game. Very fast achievements (about 5 hours to 100%) and a super fun game! It's more geared for kids but all ages can enjoy it.
Fruit Ninja (WP7) (200 GS earned) - This game haunts me... why? I've never swiped at my phone so furiously in all my life, haha. I don't have the quickest of reflexes so this game really tested my patience. As soon as I finally managed to finish it, I swore I'd never play it again. It's fun yes but trying to get all of the gamerscore is frustrating at times.
Family Game Night (610 GS earned) - I've been playing this game off and on for a long time, especially playing Scrabble and Battleship with my bestest buddy Pactra. All of the games went on deal for 400MSP ($5) each sometime last year so I finally decided to get some more gamerscore and just play.
Truth or Lies (1000 GS earned) - Yep, I'll admit it... 1000 gamerscore in an hour? DONE! All I needed was a mic and a Family Guy soundboard on my phone and I was set. Yay for easy points.
Dead Island (980 GS earned) - It took a bit of convincing to get the bf to play this game co-op with me but we finally played it together. I loved this game even though it got tough at times. The game is built for co-op and it pulls it off brilliantly. The achievements were a fun challenge but not impossible. Smashing zombies together with baseball bats filled with nails = win!
Sacred 2: Fallen Angel (175 GS earned) - I love this game but wow it takes many many hours to get gamerscore for this game. I have yet to 1000 this game but I like to pick it up from time to time just to get a few steps closer to the next achievement.
Pictionary (1000 GS earned) - One of 3 games that my wonderful boyfriend got me for Christmas. Super easy gamerscore and another reason to bust out the uDraw tablet. Unfortunately this is the last of the uDraw games available for Xbox. *tear*
Beards & Beaks (WP7) (200 GS earned) - Who wouldn't love a game about garden gnomes fighting off bullying crows? Super fun phone game and easy gamerscore (if you fudge the time and don't give into microtransactions). I've never had so much fun flicking gnomes across my phone screen before!
The Sims 3 (WP7) (200 GS earned) - For a phone game, this one has taken me the longest to complete. Easy achievements yet time consuming. It was good fun since I'm a fan of the series.
Xmen Origins: Wolverine (230 GS earned) - I really wanted to play a superhero action game. Started this game in January but finished in February so to be continued...
Good Luck Have Fun!
Total GS earned in January = 8415 (Wow... :D)
