Gutted...

Hey! Long time no post... yes, I'm still alive. clap
I'm writing this during weekend and at an odd hour... so not sure if anyone will read this... haha. If you are here, hooray! wave

Lots to update since my last entry so here we go! Extra Life on October 20th was a great success. I managed to raise $1005 for Children's Miracle Network by playing video games for 24 hours. Prior to starting the event I was sick with a cold virus and unfortunately I just couldn't shake it before starting my gaming marathon. Around 6:30am (about 20 hours in) my body gave out and had to take a break for a couple hours. After some rest I came back with a vengeance and managed to complete my 24 hours plus much more! I completed the game challenges give to me by sponsors. Most of the free time was Borderlands 2, hehe. Just couldn't help myself I love the game so much. Here I am the night before setting up and testing the live broadcast:

The stream looked great and I'm pretty proud of myself for pulling it off so smoothly. I DLed all of the broadcast videos from twitch and planning on creating a highlights video... as soon as I figure out how, haha. laugh

So I never had a single issue with Borderlands 2 until the latest patch. Right when I downloaded it, I got the dreaded Badass Rank reset glitch. I was pretty gutted... since I lost not only my badass rank, but all of my golden keys, customizations, and secret stash loot items. As soon as I realized that happened I turned the Xbox off and sulked a bit. After getting over myself I "jumped back on the horse" and started playing again. It's my favorite game this year and despite the bugs I couldn't put it down... until my game all of the sudden started freezing during loading screens. GAH! I just want to play! angry Now that I can't play without my Xbox hard locking up, I am forced to put the game away until there is a fix. cry If DLC is released before a fix for the freezing, guess I'll have to just deal with it.

To my delight, the Japanese games I ordered from play-asia finally arrived. Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning (JP Ver) and MajiTen: Maji de Tenshi wo Tsukutte Mita (wow, what a name, hehe). I've played KoA twice before (Once on Xbox and also on PS3) and had no hesitation in starting my 3rd playthrough.. I know the game inside and out so I'm totally dominating. Funny thing is that the game is in English (via console settings) but all of the achievements are in Japanese. So when something unexpectedly pops, I have no idea what it's for. When it's time for achievement cleanup I'll have to compare pictures so know what's what, lol.

I love the game and if you enjoy sandbox hack and slash RPGs, check it out.

I've also decided to boot up and try Harley Pasternak's Hollywood Workout Despite the dude's repetitive dialog and the product placement ads, it's actually a decent workout game. I can tell that it's working because I'm pretty sore the day after. It's nice that the game focuses on different muscles in the next workout in case you are sore from the last one... so you can keep going. Achievement completion looks easy but it's going to be really time consuming. No mini games to worry about, just doing certain exercises and completing workout plans. One 5 week and one 10 week program will be the most time consuming. I'd like to get in better shape so this game will be an eventual 100% completion. I'm curious about the Nike+ Kinect Training and miCoach games so if you've played them, let me know how they are.

So while I've been playing Kingdoms of Amalur, my bf is playing Angry Birds Space (Win 8)

It actually looks kinda fun and the achievements don't require you to 3 star every level... so if I do play it, I don't have to worry about getting high scores. Just a whoooooooole lot of grinding. Smash 500,000 blocks... oh my! My laptop is the only PC in the house with Windows 8 so he keeps hijacking it to play, hehe. This gave me motivation to get a tablet; something that I have always wanted. The Surface is nice but out of my price range and doesn't have some features that I want (GPS, etc). I used to have an Android phone before switching to my WP7 (for the games) and I've really missed it. So I got myself a Nexus 7! I love it so much.

It's so nice how much you are able to customize it. Here I am testing out the front facing camera, hehe.

Camera quality is a bit noisy (grainy) but not a deal breaker. I don't really play games on it but that's not what I got it for. smile However I do have Scrabble so if you'd like to play a game, let me know. Now my bf can steal my laptop anytime and it's all good. compute One of these days while he's at work I could like to play Adera (Win 8) and eventually boost my point and click adventure leaderboard rank.

In totally random and non gaming news... I got myself a new reusable shopping bag! Here in Portland Oregon, plastic bags are banned so it's either paper (w/ no handles) or bring your own.

Yay robot! It's so cute. hehe

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I haven't posted a song in a while so here's the one from the Nexus 7 screenshot. music
