If you look at my
3 custom controllers and
blue faceplate for my Japanese Xbox and say, "Hey, that girl likes to customize stuff." DING DING! You'd be correct!
There are tons of skins out there for Xbox consoles but I thought it would be fun to have one for my Kinect. After a quick Google search I found the
decalgirl.com website and behold... kinect skins!
They have many many many designs to choose from for lots of devices.
The one with the blue dragon caught my eye.
Blue is my favorite color and I LOVE dragons. Winner!
The only instructions that came with it was cleaning and proper decal application, nothing Kinect specific.
(Sorry for the poor lighting in the pictures)
Okay so here we go!
Before we get started, make sure the Kinect is tilted up. Makes putting the base decal on much easier.
Supplies: Soft cleaning cloth, Kinect sensor, Skin Kit from DecalGirl
Base added. Easiest part, not perfect but pretty good.
| Flipped the Kinect over and added the base decal. Lining this part up was easy. |
| The front decal. It's not perfect but it still looks good. |
| The top and final piece. Really easy to line up with the seams. |
| All done! It looks much brighter with the camera flash. |
| Don't forget to recalibrate and clean any fingerprints off the lenses! Enjoy your new pretty Kinect. :) |
