On the Road Again... Finding a good console travel bag

"Hey wanna come over and play Xbox games and pig out on pizza?"
"Sure!"
*all of the sudden realizes that she doesn't have a bag to carry it in*
*grabs the box that Xbox was packaged in*
*commence awkward travel of console*
My bf has an awesome metal case designed for the Xbox 360.
He got it forever ago and it's unavailable.

If you know me, you know that I'm a homebody.  So the idea of needing a travel bag of some-sort for my Xbox hadn't occurred to me.  My bf and I live together so there was no need to worry about such things.
So after a visit to a friend's house for some epic good gaming times (and pizza!), I realized that I needed a bag.
After searching and searching, I couldn't find a "must have" travel bag made for the Xbox 360.  (I was shocked at the number of Wii travel bags exist though, hehe.)  I'm not saying that Xbox console bags don't exist, but the ones that are available either have quality issues or the method to carry games isn't ideal (disc sleeves only).  Backpacks are nice and fit everything but all that open space requires me to wrap and pad all of the console components for safety.  I wanted something snug and easy to carry.
Call me picky but I was on a mission to find the perfect bag.

So I measured and figured out the dimensions of the travel bag that I wanted for my Xbox.  After tons of searching and narrowing down, I found this bag on Amazon: Grip by High Sierra messenger bag.  It's much larger than your typical messenger bag. Dimensions: 7.0 " H x 13.5 " W x 18.0 " D
One thing that also concerned me about having a bag not specifically made for an Xbox 360 was having a controller floating around.  Last thing I need is to have my thumbsticks or triggers messed up.  :(  I ordered a protective Xbox controller case from eBay (only $8).

The true test... seeing if it works!  Here we go...
(sorry for the odd grey bar on the bottom of some pics, I need a new phone)

Messenger bag and controller case arrived.
The protective case fits my controller perfect.  Feels very safe and secure.

Xbox 360 disassembled and inside the main compartment.  Feels very snug and is a perfect fit .
Console, power brick, cables, and controller case.
Using the front pocket for games w/ cases.  Fits 6 perfectly.
Pocket is a bit loose, it's not bulging.
Conclusion:  This bag works great for traveling back and forth to a friend's place for fun times.
I would not recommend using it for air travel.

Grand total: $33
I'm very happy and look forward to future epic gaming + pizza nights!

Gamers travel in style, yo.
