Labor Day Weekend Gaming Adventures!

Happy Labor Day weekend to everyone who gets the weekend off. wave

After finishing up Dynasty Warriors 7, I just HAD to play the next episode of the Walking Dead game. Episode 3 was pretty intense! I really enjoyed it but since you can't invert the controls, I had a tough time on one of the segments. Yeah I died several times. cry Sometimes I wish I could retrain my brain to play with normal controls. The first FPS game I ever played was Red Faction and it was inverted by default... so that's how I learned to play a shooter.

Do you play normal or inverted? I feel like the minority.

After Walking Dead ep3, I had full intention to dive right into Sleeping Dogs but something just didn't sit quite right. Perhaps I'm not in the mood to play an action sandbox game right now. Even thinking about starting Risen 2 next.
I keep craving RPGs lately. When I saw that I only needed 6 more achievements for 92% completion, I booted up Mass Effect and grinded out a few "cast X power 75 times" achievements. I always play a soldier in the Mass Effect series to I started up a new character and made it to the Citadel, then proceeded to cast said powers on the transport terminal. laugh Hooray for my turbo controller! Now that I've hit 92% I might just relax a bit on trying to 100% every game and just enjoy all the games I like... and get as many points as I can w/o going bonkers, lol.

Today's agenda will finally be some more Borderlands JP. I ordered a digital points code from play-asia 2 days ago but never received it. I had to cancel it today and found a different source for email points codes. This place has 800 codes which is perfect for the DLC, since they are 800 each. I ordered 2 codes and am now getting ready:

Can't wait! I'm playing a Siren so whenever we hit the Crawmerax fight I'll have to respec phasewalking and just kite the trash mobs around to stay alive. This will be interesting. shock We're still undecided about getting the Moxxi Underdome DLC... I might just play it by myself if the guys aren't interested, hehe. Wants the 1500GS!

Talking with a friend of mine, we got started on the topic of buying/collecting game guides. I hate using guides while playing unless I absolutely have to... and usually it's just for the collectibles and/or maps. On the other hand, I really enjoy physical game guides because to me they are like an art book for my favorite games. I've also bought a few for the helpful maps (looking at you Eternal Sonata) so I'm not constantly lost. Here's what I have:

The Borderlands hardcover book is my favorite. I bought it well after I completed the game but it's too awesome not to own! The book on it's side is the art book that comes with the Skyrim Collector's Edition. It's a bit too tall for the shelf. I used to have the Final Fantasy XIII limited edition hardcover guide but I let someone borrow it and never got it back. cry

A few people were curious about my glass art so here's a random picture of a "pi plate" I made last year:

The black is made from crushed glass powder that I just pushed around with a paintbrush until it made the desired shape smile I'd love to do the same idea but with a Gears of War cog design. Red transparent base with crushed black glass creating the image.

So many fun ideas running through my head!
