Here's a quick update on Extra Life.
This is my third event and I'm preparing to make it the best one yet! So I just ordered a new CPU, Motherboard, RAM, and HD webcam.
If I had my way (and budget) I'd get the best possible hardware but alas... I'm doing the best I can.
Here's what I've ordered:
This CPU should be able to handle 2x 720p sources just fine for the stream. I settled on an i5 because it's better for gaming and hey, I might wanna play a PC game once in a while.
It'll be nice to finally upgrade to more RAM... looking forward to plugging these babies in. No, they're not the greatest but I'm also on a budget. The stream should hold up well and look great with these.
This will be my first mobo install so wish me luck! It came in a cpu/mobo bundle combo with good reviews so hopefully everything works together. I like it when hardware can be friends.
This inexpensive 720p webcam should look nice for the picture in picture I have planned for the stream. I could have gotten better but it's silly to get a spendy webcam for only an annual event. Now you can watch me get my game on in HD! :)
As you can see, I'm putting a lot of time and effort into this year's charity event... so
