Genre: Japanese Role Playing Game
Released: Xbox 9/07, PS3 10/08
Mode(s): Single Player, Local co-op
Combat Style: Turn based with action elements (quite fun!)
Plot Summary: Takes place in the dream world of the late Frédéric Chopin while on his deathbed.
So I'm about ~5 hours into this game and I'm impressed so far! The cel-shaded art style of graphics are truly beautiful to look at as you explore this dream world inside Chopin's head. Music is all around you... this even includes the playable character names (minus Chopin himself, also a playable character). Despite it's many cutscenes I have yet to find myself bored while playing this game. The combat is a mix of turn based and action gameplay... quite unique and very fun to play.
Another unique element in combat is light and dark areas of the battlefield. Depending on where you and/or the enemies stand, elements of the battles change and this includes enemy spells/appearences plus your attacks/heals change. For example I'm standing in the shade so I get a shade based special attack... if I need to heal, I run my character to a light area. Makes the battle interesting and I like that about this game.
After I complete this game, I'll give my final score on the review page.
If you love role playing games and you haven't tried this yet... I highly recommend it. :)
